By Michael O’Neill (apologies to Clement C Moore)

T’was the Night Before Christmas and all through the White House

All the creatures were stirring including a mouse.

The packing crates were stacked in the hallways with care,

In hopes that Allied Van Lines soon would be there.

The Biden’s were nestled all snug in their bed

With Jill calming Joe by rubbing his head

It’s not your failing dear, that Democrats got thumped,

Blame Nacey Pelosi, she’s why you got dumped.

When out on the lawn there rose such a clatter

They sprang from the bed to see what was the matter,

Away to the window they flew in a flash

To see who was so noisy, who made such a crash.

The moon on the breast of the new-fallen snow

Gave the lustre of mid-day to objects below,

When, what did their wondering eyes focus on

But a massive black limo with new President Don.

They knew it was Trump; they knew it right quick,

His blue suit, red tie, and Maga hat did the trick.

More rapid than eagles, his transition team came,

And he whistled and shouted and called them by name.

Now RUBIO, Now HOMAN, now SUSIE WILES, you vixen

On COLLINS, on BESSENT, on LUTNICK, get fixin’.

Get on to the porch, smash down the wall,

Don’t worry about charges, there’s pardons for all.

The noises the Biden’s heard upon opening the door

Were braying and boasting and a tremendous uproar.

As they were turning their heads and looking around

Donald J Trump came in with a bound.

He was dressed in a blue suit, red tie and red hat

And his droll little mouth made him look like a prat.

He was boastful and brash, making pronouncements galore

Promising a bunch of new tariffs while showing illegals the door.

We will make all the changes and Make America Great

And even turn Canada into the 51st State

Then he sped down the drive and drove out of sight.

Shouting Merry Christmas to all, and to all a “GREAT” night.
